A Case of the Mondays

The weekend got better as it went along because I was so spent from the week.  Friday night, I was bummed to have been canceled at Pyramid Walnut Creek due to bad weather.  However, it probably was a good thing as I'm not sure how well I would've played.  If there was any show to cancel, this was probably the best option.

Saturday, I had to work all day at the rainy UC Davis football game that happened to be kicking off at the EXACT same time as the first pitch of Game 3 of the World Series.  I'm as supportive as possible to the UC Davis program, but even I know that most people are going to choose to stay in a warm place and watch the Giants in the World Series rather than go outside in the cold and rainy environment to watch UCD get smacked by Southern Utah.  Bummer.

After the game, I was pretty damn run down.  Mrs. B. and I were invited to a party that surely would've been a great time, but I didn't have the energy to dress up and go out to a party (Sorry Garret- I am lame!)  Mrs. B. and I threw on some sweatshirts and went to zone out in front of Saw 3D.  You want my review of the movie?  Well...

Mrs. B. and I have made a sick tradition out of going to see Saw movies every year.  If you don't like the series, don't even come close to checking this movie out.  This movie is a direct continuation of the last one (and Saw 6 was decent in the grand scheme of Saw movies.)  The return of the Dread Pirate Roberts (AKA Carey Elwes) was a welcome addition to this movie, but in the end it was not salvageable.  The 3D glasses were as unnecessary as it gets and I would've saved money and seen it in 2D if that were an option (it wasn't at the theater we went to.)  Some of the kills/traps were interesting, but the acting was a low point in the entire series.  The only reason to see this movie is if you want to know what happens with the plot in the overall series, and even then I can't really recommend the movie.

After a long night's sleep, I was feeling a bit more energized so I did some house cleaning on Sunday morning before football started.  Once football started, my fantasy teams cleaned house on the electronic battlefield.  I squeaked by in my ESPN league, but in Yahoo, my team is winning 122 to 62 going into tonight.  Granted, my opponent has Peyton Manning and Arian Foster tonight, but I'm feeling good about it.  I even started Sam Bradford over Matt Schaub and while I don't know what Schaub's numbers will be tonight, Bradford dropped a solid 20 points on the Carolina Panthers.

On to Game 4 of the World Series.  This game can be summed up in one quick sentence- MADISON BUMGARNER IS THE MAN.  That's it.  He controlled the entire game for 8 innings and The Machine closed it out.  With the Giants up 3-1, they look to be in control.  I'm thinking Cliff Lee will pitch well tonight and the series may get closed out by Matt Cain on Wednesday in San Francisco.  That would be fitting and the place would go nuts.

Here's to a week full of getting organized, sleeping regularly, and possibly even getting to the gym more than twice!  It's time to get back on track and there's no better time than right now.

Stafford torched my Redskins who are easily and often confused with the dumpster fire known as the Panthers.

I couldn't help but sing that Tom Green song everytime the Giants mowed down the Rangers last night. Get the poo off my Bumgarner (get the poo off). I need the poo off my Bumgarner! I'm 30 years old and lame.

Dammit. Now it's in my head as well. I'm almost 30 and as lame as you are.

Thank you allowing Megatron to lead my Yahoo fantasy team to victory.
